KEF has been particularly concerned about the nutrition, health and immunity of our beneficiaries - school going boys and girls of over 40 partner schools. The KishoriSehatAbhiyaanprogram, which actively caters to the well-being of adolescent girls, contacted those girls who had last year been detected with haemoglobin deficiencies.
Since a low haemoglobin count directly correlates to a compromised immune system and is a potential threat for any virus, the team conducted a zoom session with 25 of these girls along with gynaecologist Dr. Shruti Mani. The girls were given a better understanding of the causes and symptoms of anaemia, tips and important precautions for Covid-19, and guidelines to stay consistent about their own health every day.
