Ruhi Shaikh's Journey Towards Positive Change

PHM, Ruhi Shaikh, has been making positive changes at Ahmed Sailor Primary School. Here's a summary of the actions she took and the results achieved:

Learning from LEAD Program: Ruhi attended regular ICDI sessions and workshops organized by LEAD. Through these sessions, she learned about various practices such as Parents meetings, Staff meetings, School vision, SDP, Literacy & Numeracy, and more. She had discussions with the facilitator and her team to gain a deep understanding of these topics.

Shifting to a modern approach: Ruhi realized the importance of moving from traditional methods to a more modern approach. She understood the significance of listening to every voice, acknowledging and appreciating people. She also understood the importance of having a personal vision as well as a school vision aligned with the School Development Plan.

Implementation of plans: Based on her learnings and realizations, Ruhi planned and implemented several initiatives in the school this year. These initiatives included:

Conducting ASER tests and providing training to teachers on how to conduct them and the benefits of these tests.

Arranging three training sessions for staff members to enhance their knowledge and improve their teaching practices.

Developing the school vision and mission with the support of all staff members and stakeholders.

Creating personal visions, missions, and action plans for Ruhi and six staff members. Their focus areas included integrating E-learning in the classroom and improving basic literacy and numeracy skills.

Creating a School Development Plan (SDP) with short-term and long-term goals.

Involving parents in creating teaching aids to make classroom teaching more interesting. Conducting parents and teachers meetings using activity-based methods.

These initiatives have helped in creating a more inclusive and progressive environment in the school. Teachers have gained knowledge and improved their teaching practices. The school now has a clear vision, mission, and SDP. Parents are actively involved, and meetings are more engaging and interactive. The focus on basic literacy and numeracy skills, as well as integrating E-learning, shows a commitment to providing quality education. Overall, Ruhi's efforts and the implementation of these initiatives have brought about positive changes in the school, benefiting both students and teachers.
